For several years, I lived in a tiny apartment in Chicago, so I wanted to share how I had been able to create stimulating (and creative) environments for my pets despite a limited budget – all right in the middle of a big city! I started off with a few betta fish and a single tank, and since then, the channel has grown into so much more. I’ve had the opportunity to connect with tons of pet owners and animal lovers around the world – teenagers and college students, busy parents with curious kids, people looking to get just one fish (or cat or dog) who don’t know where to start, and hobbyists wanting to get serious and give their pets an upgrade."Watch Videos

After Reefs is an aquaculture, research, and advocacy group focused on promoting coral reef longevity through sustainable aquaculture.
Between the recent decline in coral reef health across the globe, the rise in limitations on coral export, and the growing demand among coral hobbyists, aquaculture is essential to the future of the reefs, both the ocean’s and our living room’s. No coral enthusiast wants to live in a world “after the reefs,” and After Reefs’ goal is to help ensure that day never comes. AR also works to assist the everyday reefer through its research and advocacy efforts.
After Reefs got its start with help from CustomAquariums.com, which built the display tank in our 1000 gallon system. AR’s founders are two brothers, a lawyer and a biologist, who have a passion for saltwater aquariums. After Reefs does not buy coral from the ocean: it acquires them only from aquaculture operations. AR has never purchased wholesale, and it focuses on culturing the most spectacular and unique pieces in the hobby.Watch Videos

Robert’s 300-gallon reef aquarium features many species of angelfish and corals.
"I have had the 300G reef ready aquarium from Custom Aquariums for about half a year now. I am very happy about the build quality and how it was packed and shipped. The attention to detail of the tank is second to none. The clarity of the glass, the paint job on the back panel, the black silicon used, and the holes drilled for the overflow boxes are all perfect. But I am especially happy about the anodized aluminum frames Custom Aquariums used. Some people may think that the frames are only there to hold the glass panels together. But to me, the frame is like the interior of a car. If a car's interior is mostly made of plastic, most people will instantly think it's cheap and floppy. But if a car's interior is filled with polished aluminum that is smooth and shiny, people will automatically think it's a nice car to be in. The same thing applies to an aquarium. This 300-gallon tank is my dream build and something I have planned for years. So I wanted everything to look as nice as possible and the anodized aluminum is an important part of the "perfection". I have had reefing friends over and they were all surprised how much a difference the aluminum frame looks and feels from normal plastic frames. They look the same in videos and photos but in person, they are very different for sure!"Watch Videos
