The 300 Gallon Reef Tank Is Here!

By Fish of Hex on

Travis:
What's up everyone? Welcome back to another video, this is Travis here. Today is the day the delivery for the 300 gallon tank and stand. I've been waiting for this for a very very long time, so shout out to Customaquariums.com for sponsoring this tank and stand for this channel, I really do appreciate it. This YouTube stuff has opened up so many doors and the opportunity that is just being presented for myself and the company is amazing, so I really appreciate it, so shout out to them. Yes, it's here. It kind of caught me off guard, as I mentioned in the previous video it was shipped on Wednesday and it got here on Friday so I had nobody available to help.

I did manage to get two people to help me bring the stand down this little hill and into the basement which you guys will see here in a second. I also had my son here. He did what he could. He's one and a half so he tried at least, but either way the delivery was flawless so shout out to Sean from XPO, the freight company that actually shipped this. They did a great job.

There was no damage and he helped me get it off the truck. It was definitely stressful because it's 900 pounds for the tank and then I think six or 700 pounds for the stand and the lift gate wasn't long enough to hold the whole system so it basically had to hang off the gate, plus go down off the 18 wheeler. Yes, it was a little nerve racking but Sean did a great job and we got it into the parking spot here.

I wen't ahead and opened up the stand first, did a complete inspection, it was good to go. Then I moved on to the tank, but either way we went ahead and decided to move the stand in because we did have two other people here that was able to help me get the stand into the basement and I think it's probably five or 600 pounds still. It's pretty big, it's beefy, it's very solid. I know that some of you guys were saying in the comment section of my last video that you're concerned about it folding because there wasn't any side braces. There's no chance man, this thing is rock freaking solid. There's no way. You could probably park a car on this and try to drive off, it wouldn't be an issue. It's that strong. Either way this was put into the basement and I will show you guys here in a second kind of how I got it into place using PVC because I was by myself at that point. I didn't want to drag it on the cement and I didn't want to kind of scuff it up or anything so I moved it through the basement with PVC which you guys will see here in a second.

Either way let's go ahead and move over to opening up the tank, which everybody wants to see. I am so impressed. This is the best looking tank I've ever seen dry in my entire life and it's flawless. Not a scratch, the paint is perfect, the silicone is perfect. You can definitely notice a difference being that ultra clear glass and it came with the overflows, the siphon stop overflows as well as the overflow box. You guys will see all that in a later video, but it is beautiful. I don't really know what to say besides the fact that this is the best looking tank that I've ever seen and it doesn't even have any water or rock, or coral so I can only imagine what it's going to look like later on.

Now as I've mentioned before, I went ahead and moved it into place with this PVC just sliding along, so if you guys are ever moving anything heavy, using PVC is definitely a pretty easy way. I can literally push this entire stand with two fingers and then I can also slide it into place so just a little quick tip there. Guys, regarding moving the actual tank in, I plan on doing this on September 30th, about 1 PM. I'm ready to do a barbecue, we're going to have some beer, we're gong to hang out. For anybody who comes and help you can obviously walk away with a free coral as well. I definitely don't mind helping you guys out for helping me, of course. If you do live in Pennsylvania or anywhere near Harrisburg and you want to come help out and chill for a few hours on Saturday, the 30th, just hit me up via email or text. All my information is on the website and my email is [email protected] so go on and check that out. Either way guys there's tons of videos coming. I just did my second 50% water change on the Pukani rock so it's looking good. We got about four more weeks until the Geo Sump gets here and after looking at the area where the sumps going to go, the sump, the ATO and the calcium reactor is actually going to take up this entire area, so I can't wait to see what that's going to look like. Either way guys, I hope you enjoyed the video. If you have any questions, please put in the comment section below. Don't forget to subscribe for more and I'll see you next time. Peace.
