Tyler Rugge: Hey, what's up you guys? My name is Tyler Rugge. Welcome back to my YouTube channel. We're back with my freshwater aquarium. For anyone who hasn't seen my previous videos, I got a custom aquarium done by Custom Aquariums and I set it up a little over a month ago, I transferred all my fish from my old aquarium into this new one, and now I'm ready to add some new fish.
I went out to a local fish store and I bought 20 new fish for my tank, which probably sounds like a lot, but they're not really big fish, I promise like I'm not doing anything crazy here.
Before we get into that, I want to show you footage from the fish store because it's a really cool store. They had so many cool things. They had this giant eel, it was so cool. I'm going to show you guys around the fish store and then we're going to come back and I'm going to show you the new fish that I got.
Also before we get into it, don't forget to give this video a thumbs up, I see you watching this. Give it a thumbs up. I need all the likes. It helps me. Also, hit the notification button and subscribe if you're new here by the way, but please like this video. Without further ado, let's get straight into the fishes, the fish, the fishies.

Tyler: All right. I'm back home and I got the Neon-- not the Neon Tetras, the Cardinal Tetras. They look very similar. I ended up getting 20 Cardinal Tetras. 20 does not look like very many. I thought like, wow, I'm adding 20 Tetras to my thank, that's just going to be so many more fish in my tank, that does not look like a lot. I'm definitely going to close my bedroom door so that my birds stop screaming at me.
Anyways, I'm definitely probably going to add some more Cardinal Tetras down the line, I just thought 20 would be good to start out. I do have a really big tank with a really crazy filter system. You guys can be reminded in case anyone forgot. Sorry, it's a mess down there. I have this huge seamless sump from Custom Aquariums. The filtration in here is really, really heavy. This thing is going to be able to handle a lot of fish, and it's really full of life as far as plants go, but there just aren't very many fish in there. I have not added anything really. Since I've started it, I added a pleco, which you can kind of see. Well, no, you can't, he's back there. I'm going to float the fish in there and then they're going to acclimate and we'll add them.
Since setting up my freshwater tank from Custom Aquariums, I set it up about a month, month and a half ago about, but I haven't really added much to the tank. I started out with my black skirt Tetras, and my rope fish and my shrimp. That's basically-- and my pearl gourami. Then my grandpa just recently passed away and he had a fish tank because I set up a fish tank for him in his house, just so he would have something to look at. I did all the maintenance for him and everything, but he really likes fish, so I set up a fish tank for him.
When he passed away, he had all his fish leftover and I couldn't take all of them just because not all of them would have done well in my tank. I ended up keeping one of the gouramis and I added the gourami to my tank and then I also added a little pleco go to my tank. I want my tank to have a big school of Cardinal Tetras. I just think it'll add a lot of life to my tank. I just love schooling fish and watching them is really cool to me.
I'm starting with 20 Cardinal Tetras, I'm probably going to add more, I'm not really sure how many I should put in the tank. I'm just going to gradually increase over time probably just so I don't overload the filter. I don't want to have any ammonia spikes or anything like that, obviously, so we're going to go slow. I'm really excited. Are you guys excited to be added to my tank?

Tyler: All right. I acclimated them and I added them to the tank, there they all are. I am obsessed with them already and I already want to add more of them but don't worry, I'm going to wait. I have the willpower. I just love it. I feel like it adds so much more life to this tank. This tank is just so big and open and I really don't have a lot of fish in there. I am so excited about these guys and I definitely want to add some more in there. If you guys have any suggestions of bigger fish I could potentially add to the tank that might be friendly and not eat my Cardinal Tetras, fish that are not super shy but are also not aggressive. I don't know if that exists. If you have any suggestions, let me know.
All right guys, I hope you enjoyed today's video. If you did, make sure to give it a thumbs up. I hope you did because I asked you to earlier but if you didn't, do it now, and again, if you have any suggestions of fish that you think would go well in my tank, let me know because I'm not super well versed in all the different types of fish that there are. I would love to hear you guys’ suggestions.
If you guys like my tank, I will link Custom Aquariums down below because they made my tank and my stand and my canopy and they did an amazing job. That's also where I got the seamless sump from. I will also link Aquadecor backgrounds down below, that is where I got my aquarium background on. That's it for today's video.
