Unboxing My Favorite Goldfish For Their New Tank

By Swhiskey on

Speaker: A lifetime aquarium has unmatched strength, integrity, and cosmetic appeal. The rest of the installation process is just a matter of assembling the pieces. The elbow fitting that attaches to the exit of the bulkhead should be cemented into place using PVC cement. Let us help you design that custom filter system that you want for your aquarium.

I ordered this from Coast Gem USA, thanks to a follower of mine, big goldfish fan. I wanted some goldfish for my new tank. I don't think I've showed it off yet, but we'll see it in this video.

The plan was to get just all panda goldfish and I wanted to get three of them for my 105-gallon tank that I want. Here is the bag of them, hopefully, they're all here and alive and well. I’m just going to float them for a little bit. Let them adjust. Some of these guys are amazing. I’m going to let you see that there. They're all black and white. There's a little bit of orange to some of them. Yes, without further ado, let's just throw them in there. So cute.

While we wait for these guys to acclimate a little bit, I'm going to show you the mess of a fish room. All right, let's take a look at some tanks here. Over here, we have the five-gallon portrait tank that I got from upstairs and brought it down here so it can fit right next to this tank because there was just a little empty spot right there I wanted to fill up. Lizzie put three rocks initially in there and we waited for these bags of rocks from Aquarium Co-Op and so we’re going to put Marimo Moss Balls on top of these little cliffs, just so it looks like a cliffside and then just a hangout area in front. Very, very simple escape. I have the Marimo Moss Balls over there. Right there.

All right, up next, we have the bloodfin tetra tank and this tank has been doing better. As you guys know, I went to Hawaii first then San Francisco a couple of days later. These tanks have been neglected. I did clean them up just a little bit, a lot of algae still. Maybe I'll take some Amano shrimp from that tank, put them in this tank and hopefully get rid of all the hair algae. You probably won't be able to see it on camera, but you can see a couple of strings if I put it like that. It's just floating. These are bloodfin tetras right here.

This tank has seen better days. Hopefully, it will see better days going forward. I can't wait for that moss to just drape over just like that. Just like how that one was. See how that looks like a little mountain with green paths. Kind of cool, right?

I’ll just go right here. There now some otos in this tank and so Amano is working down there as well as my wine red shrimp everywhere. I love them. Here's another Amano. As you can see, there has been algae growing on both sides here. I want to grow this whole wall of green and so is this wall. I want this whole wall just green. I think it'll look pretty sweet and then just complete the whole mountain look. I have a pro-weed in there that I bought from Aquarium Co-Op. I'm just trying to bring it back to life because it came in in pretty rough condition and just kind of sad looking. That's in there for now.

The tank is doing well. A lot of algae when I got home. The Amanos did clean it up. I did buy the Amanos from that Sixth Avenue aquarium inside San Francisco. It was I think four for $6 or something like that. I forgot how much it cost, but it was something that cheap. Anyways, this tank is doing this thing. There's an Amano climbing up. I love this tank though. Just sit back and just watch the mountain grow.

Down here, I finally removed the hornwort. There's a bunch of guppies in here and swordtails. Hopefully, these will breed pretty soon, I don't care if they do or not actually. Just a hodgepodge of everything, this is like my messiest tank flat out I don't want to spend any more time here, so let's go over here.

This tank is the same as always. A lot of plants did die back. Got the [unintelligible 00:04:35] coming back finally in the back there. The dwarf chain sword is somehow making its way all the way up there. Weed, right? Skunk corys are doing fine, the Costello tetras I love these little buggers. Look at that guy. Those are the [unintelligible 00:04:55], these are the kerris right here. Can't say much more about the sink. I want to rip the CO2 out of this tank out and put it in another tank. I'm going to show it to you in a minute.

Over here we have probably the cleanest looking tank out of all of them and I guess the least amount of maintenance. Here we have the penguin tetras, little hockey sticks. See hockey stick tetra. You get it. There's a long fin panda back there. Got a couple of guppies here. I'm just trying to breed these guppies just to feed to the turtle. Giant snail right there. You can see the longfin panda cory all the way in the back. Let me zoom in, another one back there.

I'm going to show you the other tank, and to do that, we have to go to that side of the room. All right, this is it. This is the 15 Gallon Fluval Flora it's 15 by 15 by 15, it’s on top of my Alienware box right now but this is not where it's going to finally stay. I either want to put it upstairs or I'll buy a stand for this. We saw this piece at Aquatica in the Valley City, in Ohio here. You haven't been there. I think Jason from Primetime Aquatics just did a video about that place. You should go definitely check it out. Steve is an awesome guy.

As you can see here, you see those things that are coming out of the ground like there, I actually did put those in because they're not attached. Look, they're broken off, but it looks like it's attached when you put it like that. Look at that awesome piece right there. That piece right when I saw it, I needed to have it.

What I want to do is just grow dwarf hair grass through the whole thing. In between, like fair or so have some dwarf sagittaria, longer pieces of hair grass looking pieces. Just have it growing a little bit taller in the background there. I think it's going to be really cool having grown hair grass for quite some time, but I'm really excited to have it. All right, let's go check up on the goldfish.

I think these guys are pretty much ready. Let's get them in there and I'll film the whole thing. Oh, this one's so nice. This one's adorable. This one's really, really tiny. Here's another. I like the patterns on this one. Oh, this one's got one of the bigger ones [unintelligible 00:07:41]. This one has the most black out of all of them I think.

Another, this one has some clean lines to it. And the last one. This one has a little bit of orange to them. Get all this poop out of there.

All right, so here we're going to look at the sump down here, beneath the goldfish tank. It comes in three separate pieces. There's one piece right there, that's the one with the sock where the overflow drains all the way in the back there, comes down this hose and into there, goes through the sock. The rest of it goes through here into the media tray. There's about four media trays in there with media obviously, and I put a little bit of filter floss there.

Then the center, these two are connected down here. This is just the extra reservoir and here there's two pumps running. It's humid. It's pretty cool that it does come with glass so it doesn't evaporate as quickly. It doesn't come with the two pumps. I had to buy myself, but that's only 12 bucks a pump. Those pump run up into those siphon stoppers and the outflow. That's pretty cool system. Very easy to put together. I was very intimidated at first, but I got it done just so quick. I did put air pump in there. There's bubbles going. Super easy. That's how the tank looks like today. I'll show you some goldfish. Eleven little cute buggers.

I already probably picked out some of my favorites. I'll probably going to keep four in here and the rest I'll probably give away. I think I'm going to give away one to Candy. I think that's it guys. I knew that dramatic intro was crazy, but I like to be a little extra plus it's fun for me and it's probably fun for you guys to watch. I'll catch you guys very soon. Thanks guys for watching. Make sure you like, subscribe. If you didn't like the video, hit the thumbs down twice. I'll see you guys on the next one. Look at that kerri tetra.
